| Its Founding and Purpose | |||||
| Established in 1989 as a Public K-12 School foundation, the Alumni Foundation funds rewarding activities and designed to enrich and enlarge the educational experience of Bangor's students. | |||||
| How has the Foundation helped Bangor's students? | |||||
| Since 1990, the Foundation has provided over 200 grants to support innovative projects and challenging opportunities for some 25,000 pre-school - 12th grade students. Grants were used to support such areas as math, social studies, art, theater, science, reading, and a rich variety of student activities. More then 25,000 students have benefited from Alumni Foundation grants. | |||||
| Why are grants from the Foundation needed? | |||||
| More and more teachers are turning to the Foundation for the financial support needed to meet their students' needs. Teachers already provide far more from their own pockets than you may realize. Yet, student needs consistently outstrip teachers' resources and the school district's budget. | |||||
| How can alumni and friends of BPS help? | |||||
| Many of us acknowledge that Bangor Public Schools have contributed to whatever material well-being we presently enjoy. Please reflect on this as you consider what you can do for today's students and their future. | |||||
